These trees will improve the health of Australian forests and bushlands. How does it work?
The reforestation project where our trees are currently being planted is based in Victoria, Australia. This community-centric project matches volunteer tree growers with landholders who want to plant trees to restore degraded areas of their land or expand remnants of indigenous vegetation.
Landholders choose the species they want and growers grow seedlings for them at home. Landholders can only choose species that are in the local area according to Environment Victoria's Ecological Vegetation Classes (EVC). Local coordinators provide ongoing training and support to both growers and landholders to make sure projects run smoothly.
What about other areas in the world that need help with reforestation?
Thankfully, One Tree Planted is all over it! They have planting and reforestation projects operating all around the world, including in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
As IICT is an international professional membership body, we also want to ensure our impact is as far-reaching as possible. As such, our designated planting region will change regularly to contribute to reforestation projects everywhere.
